planet Earth . My final destination will be 20Th Century Fox Studios where upon I will Lay
eggs in a Large Warehouse studio and Laugh at those snotty little capitalist pigs who
exploited Giger as my little facehuggers lay Alien foetuses in their writhing bodies and
eventually mutilate their mangled little brains..HAW HAW HAW *menacing Laugh* Then i will
visit Giger personally and give him the bottled brains that i have collected from
hollywood as a token of my affection.. I LOVE YOU HRGIGER aka DADDY!!!!

Comments: Having had the honour of meeting M. Giger at the premier of the first
'Alien' and having collected his works over the years, I can only state that it is a
travesty of justice, both secular and natural, that he is not given full credit for the
creation of the alien in each and every one of the quartet. I have just watched 'Alien
Resurrection' on video and it is as true, if not more, to M. Giger's original concept as
in the Necronomicom as was the first film. To attribute the design of this splendid
creature to anyone other than M. Giger is absurd. Without him there is no 'Alien'.
Millions of dollars have been made upon the back of his nightmare creature and he should
be given proper credit for its creation.

off the FANTASTIC artist that MADE the Alien films what they are today is just downright
wrong and irrisponsible. Following Giger's comment, I hope the idiot that thought that one

Comments: So... Alien 4 has influences of HR Giger? Alien, Aliens, Aliens 3 and
Aliens 4 are known by everybody, right? I'm just one more in the crowd, but all the people
I know will stop calling Alien to those movies and start calling it "THANK YOU GIGER
1", "THANK YOU GIGER 2", "THANK YOU GIGER 3" and "THANK YOU
GIGER 4". For me, Aliens is the genius of Giger and the populatirity of the movie
should NEVER be a wall to the genius of such an amazing man.

How could there be such a film without the original Giger artwork ? Fox's refusal to
include the credit, even had such exclusion been an oversight (fat chance !), should bring
the film company to their knees in a court of law. I will link to this site from my home

This conspiracy is completely unfair to Giger and his work. I believe that credit should
be given where credit is due, and in this case, credit is completely at the hands of
Giger. I've always been a fan of Giger's art for as long as I can remember, and I will
always be a fan for as look as Giger's art thrives. In my opinion, he art is forever and
he deserves every bit of credit and achievment that the public can give him!

seen the Alien Ressurection movie, but was not aware that Mr. Giger was not recognized for

Comments: Alien 4 made me sick. It was a hollow, pitiful attempt to recreate
perfect, beautiful terror that we all experienced in Alien. When you watch Alien, even
listening to the opening credits made you uptight. I still watch it today, and I'm
intrigued by Giger's cold, wet designs. The designs that were always half-hidden in the
shadows....and you strained to see all of it before it was gone...it left more to the
imagination...and that's a ~hell~ of a lot more frightening than what I saw in Alien4.
Within 30 minutes into A4, you become immune to the terror that they try to impose. Yeah,
the computer graphics are good...but what good is watering a dead plant, eh? There is no
sympathy for the characters, therefore you really don't give a fuck what happens to any of
them...and it just becomes a big gore-fest. And you know, in Aliens2, Hudson was funny
(i.e."this can't be happenin' MAN!",....but in 4, when you have ~7~ of the main
characters do one-liners like him...it gets real fucking old. ~ESPECIALLY~ when the
~ENTIRE~ dialog is made up of one-liners. And if you haven't read the A4 book by A.C.
Crispin, then you're utterly lost as to what the Aliens are doing. I'm embarrassed to have
Alien4 a part of the Alien series.

Comments: I'm not sure whether or not any suit has or is gong to be brought up, but
I say sue the hell out of 20th Century Fox. They have a term for what Fox has done, and
that term is "plagerism." It is the use of another's ideas without permission or
credit to the original author. Of course, this is probably nothing new, and I'm only
beating a dead horse here, but this shit's gone on too long. As an artist myself, I loath
and despise anyone commiting plagerism, especially when there is this much money and
recognition made off of the concept in question. One might claim that 20th Century Fox
owns the alien art and concept, but I'm almost positive that Mr. Giger did not sign over
all rights to 20th Century Fox. So that means, Giger still owns the alien designs and (I
could be wrong about this...) has grounds for a lawsuit. I SAY SUE THE UNGRATEFUL
BASTARDS!

insult to injury I saw it the first week it was out at $8.50 Canadian ($6 U.S.) I was
totally unimpressed. I staunchly believe that Giger should get credit for his idea but, if
I were this films director, I would've Allan Smithee'd it and tried to get my name as far
away from it as possible. Before you go shouting Heretic and that i never liked the Alien

SEND YOU A CASSETTE OF SOME OF MY SONGS. I HAVE HAD LONG ARGUMENTS W/ PEOPLE ABOUT
OVER-POPULATION. I FEEL IT IS A HUGE MISTAKE WE REFUSE TO SEE TO THE FORCE OF MYTHOLOGICAL
RELIGION. MAYBE AT ONE TIME, HAVING 10 CHILDREN MIGHT HAVE BEEN APPROPRIATE BUT, NOW IT IS
VERY DETRIMENTAL. I FEEL THAT MANY PEOPLE BELEIVE THAT ONCE THEY HAVE A CHILD THEY WILL
"OWN" IT FOREVER OR IT WILL ALWAYS STAY YOUNG. IT IS AN INDIVIDUAL BEING.

Comments: i grew up with giger. i never had the privilege of actually OWNING his
books, but i saw enough of his peices to know i was in love. everything from stalky beasts
with drooping, alien genitals to the necronoms themselves. ive also been a tremedous alien
fan (the movies), having been raised in the 80s with cable tv and all its glories. i draw
myself, nothing brilliant, perhaps nothing that will ever be seen beyond my parents and
girlfriend, but all this talk about artistic credit i cant ignore. whether we are famous
or not, visionary or mediocre all true artists and writers share one thing, despite age,
nationality what have you: we know a little secret. this isnt an excuse for egotistical,
artsy-fartsy power trips...but its exhilirating, nonetheless. we all know what it is we
bring into it, we all know what it is we keep with us. at the risk of being contrite, we,
most of all, moreso than even the greatest and most researched of critics and spectators,
should take the utmost personal offense at this corporate slight .yeah, okay, some guys
name didnt appear in the clutter of credits in some movie... but mr.giger raises argument
for something bigger than what appears to be at first glance; an argument for principles.
i cannot relate to his cause directly, but i can, even in some minor way, relate to his
show of integrity and his hard work. as a fan of his artwork and of the gift of art in
general, i support mr.giger 110% in his endeavor. lets get our priorities straight,
people. he isnt asking for much, in the long-run, just some respect. hes not going to get
any more famous, or even all that richer, really... but he IS going to be acknowledged by
those who owe him their successes.....though as far as the new alien sequel is concerned,
is a relevant thing. i didnt even KNOW he did active work in the third alien film until i
came across this page!i thought it was all the work of woodruff,jr and his partner alone!
as for alien: ressurrection, i have to disagree with mr.gigers kind appraisal: i dont
think its very excellent at all. ive managed to see it about three times already, payd for
the first, got away with free viewings with the others. didnt get any better. perhaps it
wil grow on a few people who agree with me maybe not. i honestly thought it was crap.
giger not being hired for the film didnt help any either. the newborn: silly. if indeed
(like they didnt) 20th cen fox DID rip off giger once again, then it was a failed attempt.
no style at all...no realism. even if the script did call for a sympathetic new creature
(bad mistake in its own right), we got it, but without the first three letters. even if
the shot sript stayed the same, gigers work would atleast have made the movie visually
redeeming (say the least), maybe even improving the context of what is finally the
anti-thesis of camerons movie (what it obviously tried to be) of a roller-coaster ride
into hell: a stroll through the xenomorph woods. oh well, what to do? the reality is that
giger didnt actively participate in that new horror (as in to watch), so i should stop
daydreaming. the cynic in me has to agree with the email from james cornstock. why bother?
its probably true...because, in the end, it will be us giger fans who will be laughing. so
im not a complete kiss-ass lol let me say that i didnt particularly like or dislike the
new designs of the movie (resurrection), but hated especially the chestburster... but
whether you enjoy gigers work or not, you have to admit that a creative man was gyped.
thats like ripping off leonardo divincci for the invention of the helicopter or war
artillery...oh, wait, he has been. giger is an innovator, lets not punish him for it. and
though 20th cen has ADDED gigers name in the video credits of the movie, i wonder how they
will they treat mr.giger in the future. fox, if this happens again; its a bug hunt.

people's rights. As a citizen, I know that law is only an instrument made and used by men
for ANY purpose - because things have no aethics, only man does. Therefore, legal actions
must be accompanied, in many cases - THE IMPORTANT ONES, by political preassure. We all
have the honest desire to put things right, so here we are... The net can be used to it,
but "virtuality" doesn't HURT those that don't want to pay attention to it. The
most sensible part of human body is the pocket and it also works for corporations! Besides
sueing Fox, I guess that a movement - to be initiated here (if it hasn't begun yet) -
including "HEAVY ROCK THROWING" BY E-MAILS AN LETTERS (yeah, they still exist
and take a bigger effort to be sent to the garbage basket) TO FOX OFFICES (and newspapers,
and magazines, and everywhere) ALL AROUND THE GLOBE, INCLUDING, ALWAYS THE MESSAGE/MENACE
OF REFUSING THEIR PRODUCTS - THE VIDEO VERSION, FOR EXAMPLE, EVEN NOT GOING TO THEIR
MOVIES AT ALL (it wont kill us, will it?). How about t-shirts (maybe some other company
can use the idea) denouncing this wrong doing and making the correct statements - as we
all see in ecological themes... Let's just send it to hell and read a bit of H. R. Giger's
books for a change. Remember1: shy people may need suggestions of messagens to be sent to
the agressor, together with its address. Remember2: "sticks and stones..." Do
you know that we have, here in Brazil (that we write "Brasil") an old sculptor

All I can say is OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What in God's name are they thinking? I was just
a kid when the images of Mr Giger's Alien first entered my life, and I cannot think of
another sci-fi movie of that era that could compare. The power of those creatures were
what made that movie and it's children the classics that they are today. In my opinion,
the actors were little more than a backdrop to the Alien itself. Don't misunderstand, I
think that the actors did an outstanding job all 'round, but what would Fox have had
without the Alien that we all know, love, and fear. Sorry, but Greedo from Star Wars
doesn't quite install the same amount of fear in one does he? Perhaps the Fox executives
should keep in mind that the ALIEN gravy train they are riding on was born in the mind of
Mr. Giger. I don't expect them bow down and kiss his feet, but giving credit where credit
is due. Is that so hard? Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion. PLease feel free

Giger fan for a while now and it just doesn't seem right for the movie companies to have
not even mentioned H.R. giger in the credits. It seems like an insult to me since many
parts of the movies show obvious alien creatures created and born by Mr. giger. I can't
understand how they can get away with that legally. It was a good movie in my opinion, but
the fact is, is that giger's work is what made it good. Without the aliens, the movie
would be nothing. And I agree that the new alien does look like a giger creation also. If
I had my ideas stolen like they have been by this movie, I'd be ripping mad. I really hope
Giger sues them big time for copyright infringement. He deserves better treatment from
them seeing how their project wouldn't exist without his ideas and creations. - Don

Comments: I have enjoyed every Aliens movie except for Alien Resurrection. I
thought that it was absolutely atrociously horrible, bland, and pointless. I have watched
the Aliens film 5 or 6 times and enjoy it every time. I would say that Aliens and Alien 3
are the best Alien films, with Alien next. I like Giger's work so much that I paid $70 for
one of his large art books. Many of the films being made based on giger's work totally
lose sight of giger's artistic innovation and intelligence. It seems like some movie
makers put more time into the ads for a giger-induced movie than they do into the movie
itself. Personally, I don't just plop down $7 every time I see an ad for a movie that
looks good. I enjoy knowing that an artist's ideas are being conveyed appropriately. Tell
the movie execs that I want quality, not mass- marketed quantity. conveyed

Comments: As an admierer of Gigers' for the last 19 years, I'm fascinated by the
familiarity of his imagery. to call his work visceral is an understatement. His art is
simoultaneously fantastic and intimate-frighteningly intimate. And I've since found that
what ALIEN has which other works featuring his creations don't, is accessibility to his
sublimations through the characters. Dallas and Parker and Ripley were understandable in
an every-day emotional context to me...so when the alien bowed behind Brett and its tail
swept down, we didn't just imagine his terror, we felt our own. Short point of a long
oratory is this: if Giger is going to work in film, he needs to select stories rooted in
real human characters, not stooges for stunts or effects. was the weakest points of the
last two Alien films and to put a blunt point on it, SPECIES was contrived. One more
point, a little excentricity of my own that I'd like to share. Since seeing The Fly and
The Naked Lunch, I've thought that David Cronenberg should explore an ALIEN film. His work
is rooted in testing the human psychological extremes, e.g. Dead Ringers. Thanx for the
hearing. siarnne@netpass.com

Comments: H.R. Giger is my favorite artist and to see him be excluded from a movie
that is based on his own and undeniable design is a total crock. My thoughts were that
movie can't even compare to ALIEN and/or ALIENS, but still at the same token he was torn
away from credit from his brilliant and original design, which is just morally wrong. I
think that 20th Century FOX should fix it's mistake by holding a press conference with an
official apology aimed towards Mr. Giger. That is the only way that I can think of to
solve these childish actions portrayed by the Fox company. Thank you so much for your
time. Sincerely, Travis G. Pinsonnault

Comments: The news of Giger's inclusion into the Alien 4 credits brings some
relief, but I've made a conscious decision because of this and other similar instances of
mindless corporate greed destroying or taking value from something as unique and universal
as Giger's art. In other words, it all stops with me. I've cut myself free of the mental
pollution of commercial broadcast media, focusing moreso on PBS channels. I'm also turning
to the web as my main source for entertainment and stimulation. This has been the last
straw for me. I'm turning my back on the senseless wasteland of commercial interference.
If I may ask a question of Mr Giger or any of his fans. How do you cope with it all? How
does one elevate oneself above all the moronic drivel spewed endlessly from all
surrounding angles? Where does one turn for a refuge? Thanks for listening, keep up the
exquisite work, and I look forward to seeing more of the kind of art that is uniquely
yours.

Resurrection" again, looking for credit to be given to Giger. It did not appear. I
must admit, I hadn't watched the credits for it very cloesly the first time because, as
everybody knows, the Alien is solely Giger's creation. Hence I didn't bother looking for
his name... Now, however, I'm angry as I've been in a while. Pure and simple, this is a
ripoff. And knowing that he did not receive a possible chance at an Oscar for "Alien
3" boils the blood. Why has this been done? Giger has created these beautiful
creatures dolely from his imagination, attacked his projects with an energy that most
"artists" can only dream of and sometimes done this out of his own pocketbook,
which means he's making his life harder so that the best possible job can be done. For
this, he is stabbed in the back by the same soulless corporation who ripped off Matt
Groening with "The Simpsons." Twentieth Centy Fox, to paraphrase Giger himself,
should have a few of the Aliens growing inside them. I use Mr. Giger's art on my web

respect for things other than earning huge amounts of money from the art and efforts of a

and no fat-assed executive from a film company can cheat us. Nobody can copy the work of

that 20th Century Fox refused to give him the credit he so richly deserved for ALIEN:
RESURRECTION. The film would simply not have existed without Giger's superlative work on
the earlier films. Despite my viewpoint on the fourth film (which I happen to really like
on a theoretical and sub-textual level), I just cannot believe that no credit was given
where credit was so evidently due! I hope that this matter is quickly cleared up to
Giger's full satisfaction and I wish him all the best for the future. Just one final
